Travelling to different countries gives you a great opportunity to try different international cuisines. There are many dishes offered by each country.
If you want to try sophisticated foods, then India is the place to go. These foods are offered mainly on the Punjabi region in the north, but if you visit other places south, east and west India, you will have different types of dishes which are mostly vegetarian but can also include meat of chicken, lamb, fish, and goat.
French cuisine is excellent cuisine. One popular ingredient in French cuisine is rich cream and alcohol. One of the best and popular dishes in France is escargot or snails cooked in garlic butter with frogs’ legs. Some people are put off by snails and frogs in their dish, but these people are missing one great dish that is a delight to many. You can also find other specialties in France like pastries, spirits, liqueurs, and wines which you can find everywhere in the country.
If you go Mediterranean, you should take time to check out the Spanish cuisine. They have tasty snacks or starters called ‘tapas’, and their seafood dishes are really very tasty. They have excellent wines including sherry, which is their most famous national drink. This is wine fortified with brandy and is made in the Jerez region. Sangria which is like punch, is red wine with spices, spirits and fruit and is quite inexpensive.
Mexican or Aztec cookery is blended with Spanish idea. Tacos and tortillas are very famous in Mexico where they wrap dishes in. Avocados as mashed with oil and garlic to make that famous Mexican dip called Guacamole.
Pasta and pizza are the foods that identify Italy. Laborers in the field eat pizza for lunch. In each home in Italian villages, you will find brick pizza ovens and their women collect different kinds of mushrooms in the woods which they bring home with their baskets full of it so they can make their popular pizza al funghi or mushroom pizza. 300 varieties of sausages and 400 kinds of cheeses would make any traveler dizzy at the wide selection. Italian cuisine has been there for ages.
Warming spices like cinnamon are characteristic of Middle Easter food which combine Mediterranean and eastern cooking. Hear you eat delicious breads with you appetizers, dips, and pickles. They use a lot of pulses like lentils and chick peas with plenty of fresh and interesting salads and a little less meat.
Lemon grass and lime juice are used in Thai cooking which gives their food a delicate and subtle flavor. Bitter, sweet, hot, and sour flavors are combined in their foods. Thais are known for their fish sauce and they use a lot of noodles when cooking.
Japanese cooking includes sushi rice and fish dishes. Here you will also taste a lot of sweet and rice based recipes and soya bean products and recipes.
